In October 2021, one of the first events after Covid, in the presence of relatives, guests and KCLA officers, was to unveil a plaque in the Weston Education Centre to recognise the service of King’s medical students in relieving the suffering of the inmates of Belsen concentration camp.

The plaque was unveiled by Vice Principal Professor Richard Trembath and Dean of FOLSM Professor Ajay Shah. Professor Peter Lantos, a former member of staff at the Institute of Psychiatry, who was in Belsen as a child spoke of his experience.

Thanks Professor Stephen Challacombe for leading this initiative. It is planned to unveil a plaque on the St Thomas’ campus to recognise the service of St Thomas’ students.
