KCLA Annual Dinner and Duel Day Reenactment 22nd March 2024

This was one of our most successful and the third at Vintners’ Hall. The event was fully booked with a waiting list despite these difficult times. The concession tickets proved very popular and they sold out very fast! We had a record number of young attendees which is very rewarding and a very diverse group of guests. The photos speak for themselves.

Rear Admiral James Parkin, CBE, gave a superb speech which was very much enjoyed and focused on his memories of King’s, the history of Reggie at a hundred years old, and how he had been inspired by King’s in his amazing career.
Our distinguished guest was Dr. Stephanie Boyce, former President of the Law Society and a Distinguished Alumni Award Winner.

Sue Searle, the Chair, received so many personal messages of thanks after the event, both by email and phone, a few of which I’ve included here:

“..It was a very enjoyable evening so much so that a few of the guests who met around the table and I will be keeping in touch – always a lovely outcome!..”

“..I just wanted to say thank you so much for Friday 22nd March Annual Dinner at Vintner’s Hall 2024. It was a memorable night for me. This was my first time to attend this great event. I really enjoyed it and being proud of King’s Alumni’s membership….”

“An email hardly seems like a thank you for such a wonderful evening on Friday for Duel Day. The venue was a fantastic backdrop for all that took place – a great reenactment of the Duel, a delicious dinner and the most engaging speaker. All the work that you did was very apparent and really appreciated.

Thank you so much for everything!”

“An historic celebration in a most beautiful building is, of course, a good start, but I was very aware of the enormous amount of very hard work that must have gone on behind the scenes to make it such a successful evening for such a large and diverse group. Everywhere looked so beautiful with lovely flowers everywhere, the meal was delicious and Rear Admiral James Parker  and of course the Toastmaster Jeremy Smith played such important parts.

However, it was the fantastic work in the planning that made it such a success. Thank you again for all the very hard work that went in to making the evening such a success  and such a pleasure for so many.”

“I cannot even express in words how much I enjoyed the annual dinner on Friday evening. Everything was just perfect. Thank you very much.”
